Born in Mesa, Arizona, a CODA, which in the field of Deafness means Child of Deaf Adults, Diana is a native signer. Her first career was as a professional Interpreter for the Deaf, and it was in that capacity she first came to serve St. Matthew in 1985. This was at the request of Deaf people who wanted to found Deaf ministries here. Having understood in serving the church God's unrelenting call to be a pastor to God's unpastored children, Diana took up studies at Claremont School of Theology, and was licensed in 1996.
From 1996 to the present, Pastor Diana Williams has served as our Associate Pastor with a focus on Deaf Ministry.
She deeply enjoys theological, philosophical and sociological studies. Other much enjoyed activities include growing houseplants, hiking, jogging, reading and cooking vegetarian feasts.
Pastor Diana has four sons, Guy, Zach, Ivor and Levi, and four young grandchildren, Devyn, Elijah, Jaden and Joule. She was overjoyed to officiate the weddings of her two older sons and the confirmations of her two younger sons. Her family considers the pastoral life a great blessing, and St. Matthew a home.
