Bishop Minerva Carcano appointed Rev. Dr. Eric Brown to serve as Associate Pastor of St. Matthew UMC July 1, 2008.
Pastor Eric comes to us from Pocatello, Idaho where he served five years at the Pocatello First United Methodist Church. Prior to that, he served the Sherwood United Methodist Church in Sherwood, Oregon and the Bethel United Methodist Church in Stockbridge, Georgia. In addition to his parish ministry, Pastor Eric is a chaplain in the Air Force Reserves.
Pastor Eric received his theological education from Emory University's Candler School of Theology, where he graduated with a Master of Divinity. Pastor Eric's undergraduate degree is from Portland State University. He also earned a Doctor of Ministry Degree from George Fox Evangelical Seminary in Newberg, OR. His dissertation was entitled, "Functional Diversity: Creating and Sustaining a Multicultural Church."
The Browns are a busy young family. Adriana Brown is a neonatal ICU nurse. Griffin, 4, is planning on attending pre-school at St. Matthew while Sophia, 2, loves most everything. The Browns like to get outside, ride their bikes (kids in the trailer), go to the library, swim, bounce in bouncy castles, listen to music, and try new things.
