Scouting- For Boys & Girls

Cub Scout Pack 853 (grades 1 - 5) and Boy Scout Troop 853 (ages 11-18) welcome a visit from you. No previous Scouting experience is required to participate. Join us!! Contact Rick Nielsen for information.

Both the Pack and the Troop welcome and need recycled books and uniforms, which can be dropped off at the church.

Boy Scouts Troop 853 - St. Matthew is very proud to sponsor Boy Scout Troop 853. This troop is currently the largest troop in Arizona. Over 50 young men from this troop have earned the rank of Eagle Scout.  The troop also sponsors a Venturing crew, open to young men and women ages 14-22 who like outdoor adventures.  Troop 853 meets Mondays at 7:00 PM in Fellowship Hall. Venturing Crew Meets Mondays at 7:00 PM in Room C4 

Cub Scout Pack 853 – If you are looking to get your son involved in some great indoor and outdoor activities and meet new friends, Pack 853 is for you.  We are a very active pack that will introduce your sons to scouting and take them all the way to Boy Scouts.  Den meetings are held at various times and locations depending on age.  Pack meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 in Fellowship Hall.  An annual schedule of Pack events can be found here.

Girl Scout Troop 841 - The Girl Scouts of St. Matthew are an active troop; we meet monthly and are looking for girls between ages of 5-13 or kindergarten-6th grade levels to join us!  The programs for our Daisys, Brownies and Juniors are exciting and the girls will have many new experiences and meet many new friends!   We are also looking for a few committed adults who enjoy being with young girls and helping them to grow into fantastic young women of tomorrow!  Our meetings are on Sundays 4:00pm-5:30pm. Girl Scouts/Brownies We are in need of Girl Scout and Brownie uniforms for our St. Matthew Troop. If you have any apparel or desire any information regarding Girl Scouts contact Marion. Cookies pre-sales have begun, so please remember to support St. Matthew troop 841! Our goal for this year will be to take a trip to California's Sea World for a special overnight event for Scouts.
