Future Sunday and Midweek Adult Study Opportunities!

We are considering several Sunday morning and/or midweek Adult study opportunities. Some we are currently evaluating include:

  • Itroduction to the Bible;
  • Characters of the Bible – Men and Women;
  • Personal Bible Study methods;
  • Raising Faith-filled and Joy-filled Children; &
  • Christ-centered Personal Financial Management.

    Do you have an idea for an adult study group? Would you like to facilitate a Sunday morning or a mid-week study? Will you open your home as host? Got your attention? Want to participate in one of these or perhaps you have another idea?
    Call or email Pastor Eric to chat!

  • Classes

    Exciting new classes are starting now!!

    Adult Bible Study. In addition to the adult classes held on Sunday mornings, there are several opportunities for Bible study and fellowship during the week. Be sure to check the Mustard Seed Newsletter for current classes and information. Here are some of the on-going groups you are invited to join!

    TNT's (Twenties & Thirties) Bible Study. Sundays at 7:00 PM in Room B14. This group of young adults in their 20s and 30s meets weekly for study and fellowship.

    Wednesday Morning Bible Study. Wednesdays at 10:00 AM at Friendship Village. The Friendship Village Bible study meets from September through May in the Recreation Center at Friendship Village (2645 E. Southern, Tempe). The pastors from St. Matthew UMC and first UMC Tempe rotate in leading the class.

    Wednesday Evening/Thursday Morning Bible Study. Wednesdays at 6:15pm in Room B12. Thursdays at 9:30 AM in Room B14
    Wake up early each Thursday and enjoy Bible Study and Fellowship with the women of St. Matthew at 6:00 am in B11. Our current study is: Bearing Fruit in God's Family; A Course in Personal Discipleship to Strengthen Your Walk with God. This is the third in a three part study based on Colossians 2:7-- "As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving." [Col. 2:6-7]

    Join us as we “root our lives in Christ”. In this study we are “walking through a simple, yet effective approach to explaining the Gospel to [our] friends and neighbors.” We are also learning to “naturally reflect Christ’s character in [our] everyday lives.” [from back cover of study guide]

    Seasonal Ongoing Bible Studies
