Board of Trustees.
Meets the first Saturday of every month at 7am in the Fellowship Hall. The St. Matthew Board of Trustees maintains and repairs the buildings and facilities at the church. These hardworking men and women make repairs required, alterations to the facilities as needs arise, and coordinate the All-Church Work Days. The Trustees are always looking for willing volunteers who feel called to serve the church in this way.
The Trustees need you! Don’t delay! December 3 can be your special gift giving day, at 8:00 AM in C6-7. You may get more than you give.
Communications Committee
Meets as needed. The Communications Ministry at St. Matthew is responsible for getting the Good News out to those in our congregation and community! This group maintains the church web site, contributes to The Mustard Seed, posts St. Matthew happenings in the newspaper and other newsletters, and coordinates outreach projects. Please address questions, concerns, and comments to webmaster@stmatthewmesa.org.
Evangelism Committee
Meets 1st Wednesday of each Month. The Evangelism Ministry's role is to share faith with others and fulfill the mission of the United Methodist Church by creating a welcome environment that invites people to follow Jesus as Christian disciples. This group manages the Welcome Table, the coffee and punch on Sunday mornings, and promotes church-based programs designed to strengthen personal relationships with Jesus Christ and/or outreach to the greater church community..
Helping Hands
Meets 1st Saturday of each Month at 9 AM. The Helping Hands Ministry serves as the hands of Christ through the hands of its members. Our mission is to "enable everyone who dreams of an active, caring, Christian community in which people help and nurture one another through compassion and the out reaching of the love of Jesus Christ" We are responsible to God, St. Matthew, and the Pastors. Our ministry is to provide a care to anyone needing short term assistance (i.e. emergency meals during an illness or bereavement, transportation to church or for medical appointments, phone visits and home visits, holiday flowers and cards, tapes of the worship service, etc.). The prayer tree is also organized and maintained by a team of Helping Hands coordinators. Helping Hands members have a love for God, a love for self, and a desire to reach out to those in need. All that's required to serve with us is the compassion to reach out to those in need and the ability to be objective in any given situation.
