Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need. Habitat has built more than 225,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. HFHI was founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller along with his wife, Linda St. Matthew United Methodist Church, as a member of the Mighty Methodist Coalition, has a long-standing tradition of contributing funding and manpower to Habitat for Humanity-Valley of the Sun. Current activity is in support of the “Spring Build” for the Aguirre Family. How You Can Help
  • Volunteer: Several dates are set aside in the next few months for St. Matthew volunteers to assist with the construction. Contact HFH Coordinators Sean and Marlene Seitz, if you are interested.

  • Financial Contributions: The Missions Committee has established a fundraising goal of $5,000 to contribute toward the construction. If you would like to make a financial contribution, please make your check payable to St. Matthew United Methodist Church and in the memo line note Habitat for Humanity. Donations can be turned into the Church Office or Included in the offering plate on Sunday.
