The youth program of St. Matthew provides opportunities for fellowship, growth, and service for youth from the 6th to the 12th grades.
United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF). The Youth of St. Matthew United Methodist Church are dedicated to their mission statement, "empowering the youth of St. Matthew to be Christian disciples in our church, community, and the world." Our youth meet this goal through Christian learning, participation in church projects, monthly outreach to the children of UMOM, annual mission trips, and leadership and participation opportunities at the local church, District, and Conference levels.

Youth Council. Meets the 2nd Tuesday of each Month (October to June) in Room D23-24 at 7:30 PM. UMYF is committed to empowering the youth of St. Matthew UMC to be Christian disciples in our church, community, and world. St. Matthew Youth Council is responsible for deciding the monthly programming for the United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF). They decide on the program “themes” and the fun activity for each month. Our youth committees help plan Youth Worship
Services, Sidewalk Sunday School programs, Mission Trips, youth to youth outreach, and fundraisers; and they help publish the monthly Youth News.

Chrysalis. Chrysalis is the youth version of the Walk to Emmaus. The Arizona Chrysalis program is open to all Christian youth and young adults between the ages of 16 and 23. It is a three-day spiritual renewal retreat that provides participants and opportunity to lean more about faith and experience Christian love and support, and a change to make new commitments in their faith journey. .
