Growing in the Christian faith involves prayer, study, and action as a disciple of Christ. While St. Matthew offers many opportunities for all three, we also provide special ways for individuals to grow with God and with their family.
Lenten Studies. There are opportunities to study and share the book Unbinding Your Heart each week during the season of Lent. Various study groups will be available during the week. The book is available at the Welcome Table for $14.
Lenten Supper. We will have a Lenten Supper (followed by a study group for the book Unbinding Your Heart) on Wednesday nights starting at 6pm. Suppers continue until March 31.
Habitat for Humanity. This year's spring build is at 5403 W. Palmaire Ave. in Glendale. St. Matthew UMC build dates are April 10, July 3 and July 17 (subject to change). We will have sign-ups on the patio.
All Church Picnic. Sunday March 21. Potluck picnic noon-3pm at Clark Park, 19th and Roosevelt (west of Mill Ave., north of Broadway) in Tempe.
Rummage Sale. Saturday March 27 at 7am in church parking lot. Boy Scout Troop 853 welcomes any and all donations. Remember, it is tax deductible.
Easter Egg Hunt. Saturday March 27 10am-Noon. Crafts, Easter eggs and a visit from the Easter Bunny.
All Daughter's Luncheon. Saturday May 8. Tickets on sale beginning April 11. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for children and $2 for children in the nursery.
Holy Yoga. 1st and 3rd Friday 9:30am in room D23/24. Come experience a different way of connecting with God through prayer, breath and movement. Bring a mat, wear comfortable clothing and invite a friend. Childcare will be provided. 50 minutes of gentle yoga, prayer, meditation and relaxation. $5 is the suggested donation. Thursday Morning Bible Study. Women's Bible Study meets at 6am in B11...Men's Bible Study meets at 6:30am, Coco's, Baseline and Dobson...Pastor's Bible Study meets at 9:30am in B14. Pastor Dave Alberts is the facilitator.
UMOM. Each Friday night our church serves dinner at UMOM (United Methodist Outreach Ministries). Would you like to join a team to serve in this important ministry? If so, contact the church office to sign up.
Preschool registration. Open enrollment is underway for next school year.
