Music has been an important part of our services at St. Matthew ever since our beginning. We believe music is a wonderful way to praise God.
Our adult choir, children’s choirs, handbell choirs, adult and youth sign language choirs, and Praise Band offer every person in our church family an opportunity to serve through music. In addition to providing music for our weekly worship services, Music Ministry groups participate in concerts, cantatas, and other special events and worship services throughout the year. Several of our groups reach out to other churches and community events with the Christian message.

Bells of Joy and Genesis Handbell Choirs
The Bells of Joy welcomes all experienced bell ringers. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 7:00ish-8:30ish in the Worship Center (Sanctuary); we ring in church one Sunday each month and at holiday services. Genesis Bells (Thursdays 6:30-7:00) is a beginning bell ensemble that teaches fundamental techniques. No experience is necessary; reading music is a plus but not required. Join us in making a joyful noise!
Children’s Choir
The Children’s Choir is open to all children from four years old through fifth grade. The choir sings in Sunday morning service about once a month and practices Thursday evenings from 6:15-7:00 in C1.
Hands of Joy (Adult) Sign Language Choir
Hands of Joy is an ecumenical, inter-generational choir that performs by invitation around Arizona. Visitors are warmly welcomed; members of the choir do not need to belong to the church, and no knowledge of sign language is necessary to come to rehearsals. This is a great way to learn signs in a loving atmosphere. Come and sign your praise to God!
Hands of Praise Youth Sign Language Choir
Hands of Praise meets Mondays 6:00 p.m. in rooms D23-24. Hands of Praise is a beginning sign language choir for children and youth. The members learn sign language and performance skills in a fun environment, performing in worship services, at other church events, and at other churches. All children and youth (ages 8 and up) are encouraged to join.
Praise Band
The Praise Band performs every week and leads worship at the 10:30 Cup of Blessing contemporary service. If you enjoy singing praise songs, play an instrument, or would like to assist with the band or media at the 10:30 service, please contact the director.
Sanctuary (Adult) Choir
The Sanctuary Choir is about forty voices strong and is open to all youth and adults. The ability to read music is not necessary to participate. The choir sings every Sunday in the traditional service and rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:00 in B14 (the choir room). This is a fun way to serve in the church and praise God. Come join us!
