Justa Center is a day resource center for those individuals over the age of 55 who have nowhere to live. About 60% of those who seek help are veterans and 20% are women. It is the only place in the valley who caters to the older homeless adults. The director is Rev Scott Ritchey, ordained UM minister. Staff members work with the individuals to locate earned benefits; recover identification documents, such as birth certificates and driver’s licenses; obtain housing and medical assistance; and provide referrals to other services for the poor and homeless in the community.
Friends of Justa is a auxiliary started a year ago whose function is to get the word out of the needs of Justa , encourage contributions, and serve a lunch on the holidays. “Meals on Wheels” does not furnish lunch.
