UMOM (United Methodist Outreach Ministries) New Day Centers have the wonderful privilege of impacting the lives of homeless adults and children through its programs. UMOM believes that everyone deserves an opportunity, and this belief is foundational to their work in the community.
UMOM’s Mission is to provide homeless and low-income families with food, shelter, and tools to build a bridge to self-sufficiency.
UMOM’s Vision is to be a leader in breaking the cycle of homelessness.

St. Matthew Serves Friday Night Dinners
St. Matthew is committed to serving dinner every Friday night of the year at the New Day Center. By doing this, St. Matthew members are not only engaged in serving their community, but they also gain an understanding and love towards those of God’s children that are struggling with the very things most of us take for granted.
UMOM purchases the food, as no food prepared away from UMOM is permitted. There are two ways a group may help with the dinners: your group may arrive at 3:30 and help prepare the dinner (chopping, cooking, etc.), they may arrive at 5:00 p.m. and just serve already-prepared food, or they may arrive at 3:30 and do both. Most groups offer UMOM a donation to help offset the cost of the food. (There is no specified amount.)
If you are interested in starting or joining a team, please contact the church office.
If you would like to have this experience, please call Ginny Smythe 480-892-8083, or . Thank you all for serving.
